Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to his office at the UN Headquarters and expressed appreciation for the support the UN receives from the host city.
The Secretary-General discussed with the Mayor how to deepen the cooperation with the City of New York.
After the meeting, Mamdani said, “We are so proud to be the host city of the United Nations, and we’re proud at what it represents, which is the fact that we are part of something larger than just ourselves.”
