October 2017: New York NY: Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci hosted a party at the Hunt & Fish Club in Manhattan to introduce his new media outlet “The Scaramucci Post.”
Surrounded by political media and NY supporters, Mr. Scaramucci discussed the intentions of The Scaramucci Post, while vague and a lot to say, it was thin of details including who will monitor and contribute to the Twitter site – where the content will come from and what vetting process for accuracy will be in place.
The setting was a dimly lit section of a basement dining room, with Scaramucci claiming that “if we do this right, and we execute it properly, the American people can see some level of objective standards…they can see fact based stories that are not overly politicized, and they can hear from both the left and the right about what the potential solutions are.”
Scaramucci, nicknamed “The Mooch,” is a noted New York financier who formerly worked at Goldman Sachs, and later founded Oscar Capital Management and the investment firm SkyBridge Capital, which he has since sold to Chinese investors.
Scaramucci was appointed as White House Communications Director in July 2017 following the departure of Sean Spicer. After eleven days on the job, President Donald Trump fired Scaramucci following his controversial remarks regarding members of the President’s staff which appeared in a New Yorker magazine interview.
The Scaramucci Post had been active on Twitter for several weeks previous to the official October 2 launch party and there are no plans to move this to a full website.
