Friday, October 3, 2025 - Lower Manhattan NY The former music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been sentenced to over four years in a federal penitentiary and fined a half a million dollars for prostitution-related crimes tied to his notorious "freak-off" sex parties, which his former girlfriends testified in open court that they were forced to partake in. The 55 year old former rap star was convicted this past July for two counts under the Mann Act which is a serious crime to transport people across state lines to engage in sex work. The trial jury found Combs not guilty of more serious charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking under RICO statutes. If he had been convicted of those charges, he could have received a life sentence Just before he was sentenced, he tearfully acknowledged his past behavior was shameful, disgusting and sick and told the judge he is not the same person from a few years ago. Outside the courthouse, tempers flared as onlookers started arguing and screaming at each other then making threats forcing the NYPD to move in… Combs’ legal team played a highly Hollywood produced 12-minute video depicting his life as a family man, loving his wife and children. It ends with the children asking the judge to let their father come home...but that is not happening. Combs offered multiple apologies, including to his former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura who the world saw the vicious beating she took which was caught on the hotel security camera in Los Angeles. Mike asked Gloria if she was concerned if President Donald Trump would weigh in and offer a pardon to Combs despite knowing he vocally voted for Kamala Harris in the presidential election and wondered what a Trump presidency could look like. In the end the judge praised the women for speaking out and said a tough sentence was necessary to show the public that violence against women would be punished. Experts believe the sentencing appeal will not change anything and for the next three years, Combs will serve his sentence in a federal prison yet to be decided with the hope that he truly is rehabilitated and becomes the father he claims he wants to be.

Tuesday, June 17, 2025 - Lower Manhattan - New York City comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by federal agents at an immigration court after he linked arms with a person that authorities were attempting to detain. The person Lander was walking out of the courtroom was also arrested. Lander had spent the morning observing immigration court hearings and told reporters that he was there to “accompany” some immigrants out of the building after their hearings. Lander’s detainment comes a little more than a month after Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested on a trespassing charge outside a federal immigration detention center in Newark. The charge was later dropped by interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba, and Baraka’s fellow Democrat, Rep. LaMonica McIver, was charged with assaulting and impeding federal agents stemming from her role at the same visit as the mayor. A federal indictment charges she grabbed, pushed and blocked officers from arresting the mayor. She’s denied the charges and said she plans to fight it. Baraka has since filed a federal lawsuit against Habba alleging false arrest and malicious prosecution. A spokesperson for the FBI deferred comment to the Department of Homeland Security, which did not respond to the media's inquiry. Monday, May 26, 2025 - Queens NY: An emotionally disturbed man was tracked down by subway riders who saw him exposing himself to young children on the N train on Monday night. The incident happened shortly before 9 PM as a group of passengers followed the man down the stairs from the subway on 31st Street where they saw him go into a TJ Maxx store. When he tried to exit a group of men blocked the door so he couldn't leave. People complained it took more than ten minutes for police from the 114 precinct to respond to the 911 call for help. Police eventually put the man in an ambulance. There has been an increase in violence and shoplifting throughout the broughs particularly in Queens. Governor Kathy Hochul claims reported gun violence across New York State has continued to decline, reaching the lowest level since the state began tracking this data in 2006. New statistics released by the State Division of Criminal Justice Services show a 15 percent decline in shooting victims and a 9 percent drop in shooting incidents with injury from January 1, 2025, through April 30, 2025, compared to the same period last year, in communities participating in the State’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination initiative. Analysts are quick to state that the numbers are down from extreme highs over the past seven years so it's illusionary.
