The NYPD recenty beefed up security around the United Nations in the wake of the Boston Marathon Bombings. The area around the UN and First Avenue has been the scene of increased police presence including deployments of the NYPD’s Critical Response Vehicle (CRV) and Hercules teams. CRV’s consist of a patrol car convoy flashing their lights while driving through selected routes in the city.
