Hundreds of members of NYC Local 79, made up of a construction and general building service laborers took to the street to remind the building owners that they are here and should be hired rather than non-union workers.
With over 9,000 members, Construction & General Building Laborers’ Local 79 is one of the largest, most skilled and involved local unions in New York City – having been consolidated from ten local unions starting in 1996.
The NYPD reports no incidents or arrests.
