Sunday, April 3, 2022 – Times Square, NYC By APB Staff Writer

The Broadway community and all who find power in song gathered on the Red Steps in New York City Times Square for a musical vigil to send a message of solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people. APB News was on site to witness the spirit, determination and support the Broadway World put on display for the Ukrainian people to gather energy from and to send a message throughout the world.

The vigil included a community-wide performance of “Do You Hear the People Sing?” including one verse translated into Ukrainian and another by Broadway Inspirational Voices. During the performance the Times Square Alliance launched a billboard takeover campaign, displaying the Ukrainian flag across several digital billboards in Times Square.

The vigil was captured and will be edited for social media use by Emmy-award winning producer and director Annette Jolles.
