February 17th.-Police and Firefighters responded to an alarm from Bank of America office in the 37th street shopping Plaza in Astoria, Queens. The FDNY reports the box came in at 4 am. When they arrived at the scene, they found a large truck had crashed into the front of the Bank building with its front end smashed against the ATM machine. The driver abandoned the vehicle which was registered in New Jersey. Two Emergency Service units were called in to pull the body of the truck out of the building. There were early suspicions that the ATM had been robbed, but it otherwise appeared untouched. Police are investigating.
