A water main break in Astoria, Queens disrupted traffic an d closed streets during rush hour on Thursday afternoon. NYC Emergency Management agents closed the surrounding streets while Con Edison crews and the City turned off the main line. Investigators were looking closely how the street buckled from underneath believing underground steam build up could be the cause. No injuries were reported and the City was confident to restore water to the area by the evening.
